The Truth About Hell

No one likes to be lied on. I repeat no one. The mere idea of someone insinuating that you: 1) did, 2) said, or 3) tried to do something out of your norm would obviously frustrate you. Because you know, once enough people hear the “news,” it becomes a rumor that is hard to stop. But I have come to realize, a rumor being spread about someone you love, is just as hurtful, if not more.

Well, I am here to tell you that a rumor has been spread about someone I love so much, who I call My Savior and My King. Yes folks, I am talking about God! For decades, centuries, even millennia- (I wanted to add an “s” to millennia but Microsoft Word told me no) – there have been rumors spread about God. However, there is no big mystery who started the rumors. The only mystery is how and why he was so successful for so long?

I want to set at least one record straight about God in this article, and that is about the event called Hell. Yes I did say the EVENT, and not the place. That is only one part of many lies that need to be exposed.

I pause at this moment for you, the reader, to personally pray and ask God to grant you the gift of the Holy Spirit, who will direct you and guide you into all truth, to help you understand the truth (as it is in Christ Jesus), and to want to love the truth and nothing but the truth.

(Personal prayer) … in Jesus name. Amen

First thing first, hell is NOT a place. It is an event that will take place in the future. The bible says in Rev 20:7-10 and Rev 20:13-15 on THAT day the wicked will be destroyed, the devil will be destroyed and death will be destroyed. God does not want evil to stay on earth. He wants to get rid of it. And everyone and everything that still has evil and sin attached to them (or it) will be burnt up, especially the devil. But you’re probably wondering to yourself, “but aren’t the wicked supposed to burn forever and ever?” The answer is a clear NO!

In John 3:16, Jesus said that the two options were eternal life (living forever) or perishing (no longer existing). Jesus was not speaking in a parable or a metaphor when he said this. When someone perishes, their life and existence comes to an end. They will no longer exist. If someone can burn for ever and ever, it means they would never perish; they are alive but continually burning.

The bible says in Hebrews 12:29, “For our God is a consuming fire.” God himself is burning forever and ever. Many instances in the bible God the Father is mentioned with fire (i.e. Exodus 3:1-6; Exodus 13:21-22; Deuteronomy 4:24; Revelation 4:5; Revelation 15:2). God will be burning forever and ever and all those who choose to let God get rid of sin in their lifetime, will not get burnt up when He comes back to take His saints to heaven. All the saints will be in the midst of God’s fire and they will rejoice and praise His name.

This is why God shows us the example with Moses, who came to the burning bush; the bush did not burn up nor did Moses. God wants us to know that it will be the same way in heaven. We will be able to talk to Him face to face and not burn up. Revelation 15:2 says that everyone who overcomes the wicked one will stand on a sea as though it were glass and it would be mixed with the fire from God’s presence, and none of the saints will burn up. There will be no sun in heaven, but the presence of God will shine like the sun, and there will be no night in heaven. (Revelation 21:25; Revelation 22:5).

The truth is, that if anyone would be burning forever and ever, they would be immortal, meaning they could not die. God has told us that humans are MORTAL, meaning they will die, ever since Adam and Eve sinned. Satan appeared to them as a snake, also known as a serpent, and lied to Eve by saying that they could be like GOD if they ate from the forbidden tree. The truth was, they were already like God; they knew only how to do good things, they had power and authority over the entire earth and they didn’t have to do any labor that was physically taxing to their bodies. But once they listened to Satan, they lost all these privileges.

God wants human beings to have all these privileges again. He sent Jesus Christ, the incarnate God, to suffer the consequences that we are supposed to receive (an eternal separation from GOD) that we would decide not to have to go through that same death. Jesus was raised from the grave, the same way all the dead in Christ will be raised from their individual graves when Jesus comes with His chariot of angels. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Psalm 68:17) But since God CAN NOT force anyone to love Him, everyone who chooses to die with their sins will be burnt up and will forever lose the chance to be in the perfect world that God has waiting for us.

Now that you have read this, please make the decision to ask God to spiritually burn the things in your life that are offensive to Him, right now, right this very second. Make this your prayer every day, so that God can remind you how much He loves you and wants to save you from being eternally separated from Him. Don’t follow the devil, he will burn up, but you don’t have to join him. Ask God to come into your heart, so that you can love and trust Him more, and you will enjoy being with Him forever and ever.

While facing spiritual battles (i.e academic failures, bad influences, rumors, lies and deceit, loss of friends, financial difficulties, and many more problems) God, in His mercy, showed me the door to escape and He took me through that door. Since then, I earnestly and frequently pray and read the escape manual (aka the bible), so I don't re-enter that door of despair.
